The Church
This is where the mausoleum of Henri II of Condé (1588-1646) is located, the work of Gilles Guérin, an illustrious 17-th century sculptor. The caryatides represent the 4 cardinal virtues. Two skulls placed above the door to the tomb, one with the wings of a dove and the other with the wings of a bat, remind the living that death is clement to the Just but without pity for heathens. The rod Condé holds is the insignia of command. All of the Princes and Princesses of Condé, down to the daughter of Louis XIV, repose in this church.
A few metres from the Château des Condé stands the church, which is available for weddings and christenings if the reception is held in Vallery.
