Sheltered between the ramparts and the dovecot, a monumental gate opens out onto the palm grove, isolated from the rest of the part to pursue its melodious dreams

Four rooms, scented by thick rich Javanese teak, open out onto trees with enigmatic names: Trachycarpus fortuneï palm, jubaca chilensis, chamaerops not forgetting the Yuccas or the two hundred year old olive trees. Their wild and tender foliage plays with the gentle night breeze and so, in the glow of the stone lanterns, they dance in the sand.

At times couples leave behind the bubbling baths and sepia tinted photos inside, and drift out under a star lit sky to relax and meditate in the warmth of the Balinese pool. Its sapphire waters seem to hypnotise the enclosure’s guardian, a mythical elephant straight from the Indonesian jungle. [next]
